HAMK Unlimited published three individual publications on one platform: Professional, Journal, and Scientific. All manuscripts went through preliminary editorial review, but the process varied according to the publication. These processes are described below.
Scientific
HAMK Unlimited Scientific followed academic peer review process. Reviewers (two or more) were sought from experts of the given field, and outside the author’s home organization. The peer-review process was double-blind, which means that both the author and the reviewer were anonymous.
The reviewers were requested to use the review form (.docx).
The editor-in-chief made the final decision based on the reviewer statements, and gave feedback and instructions to the author.
The reviewers were requested to read the instructions for writers. We also recommend them to familiarize themselves with the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers.
PROFESSIONAL AND JOURNAL
The manuscripts sent to Professional and Journal were mostly reviewed by members of HAMK staff. Each Professional manuscript was reviewed by at least one reviewer and Journal manuscript by two. The review process was open, i.e., the author and the reviewer were known to each other. The reviewers were requested to use the review form (.docx) of HAMK Unlimited. On the grounds of the reviews, the editors gave feedback to the author. The feedback included requirements, recommendations and suggestions. The reviewers were requested to read up on the instructions for writers.
