Instructions for reviewers

HAMK Unlimited publishes four individual publications on one platform: Magazine, Professional, Journal, and Scientific. All manuscripts go through preliminary review, but the process varies according to the publication.

Magazine

The manuscripts targeted to Magazine are reviewed by the editor-in-chief and the publishing coordinator of HAMK Unlimited.

Professional and Journal

The manuscripts targeted to Professional and Journal are mostly reviewed by members of HAMK staff. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two reviewers. The review process is open, i.e. the author and the reviewer are known to each other. The reviewers are requested to use the review form (.docx) of HAMK Unlimited. On the grounds of the reviews, and in Journal articles also based on the comments of the publishing board, the editor-in-chief gives feedback to the author. The feedback may include requirements, recommendations and suggestions. The reviewers are requested to read up on the instructions for writers.

Scientific

HAMK Unlimited Scientific follows academic peer review process. Reviewers (two or more) are sought from experts of the given field outside of the home organization of the author. The process is double-blind, which means that both the author and the reviewer are anonymous.

The reviewers are requested to use the review form (.docx).

The HAMK publishing board makes the final decision based on the reviewer statements, and the editor-in-chief gives feedback and instructions to the author.

The reviewers are requested to read up on the instructions for writers. We also recommend them to familiarize themselves with COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers.
